AST Media Ltd held its 3rd MRX Golf Day at The Grove on Thursday 20th April with 36 Market Research Professionals taking part.
Ticket sales were good and in total the 3rd MRX Golf Day raised £700 for the MRBA
The Grove is a stunning venue and the weather that greeted us couldn’t have been better with stunning blue skies and glorious sunshine whilst the players warmed up on the Driving Range and Practice Putting Green.
It was here where all the players took part in the Putting Competition.
Hole 5 increasingly more difficult putts and you would win £20 – miss one and it was £5 donated to the MRBA. This time we had a couple of winners with Justin Alderson of Aurora MR being one of them to get all 5 in.
Practice was completed and it was off for the real test of 18 holes on a championship course.
Conditions were tough with a stiff breeze being in our faces for the first 4 holes.
The fairways and greens were immaculate considering the appalling weather we have had in the UK for the past couple of months.
The Golf Day had several competitions with an Individual Stableford, Team Event plus the normal Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive and a Nearest the Pin in 2m to keep everyone engaged even if not playing well as an individual.
Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse as the Sunshine disappeared behind dark storm clouds and the wind got up. Inevitably the heavens opened with almost all the groups getting a soaking as the rain came down for the last hour of play!
The recently refurbished facilities of the locker rooms were put to good use and a quick change into dry clothes was then followed by networking drinks sponsored by the guys at GWI. As well as the trophies for the winners of the competition, everyone has been asked to bring a prize for the raffle and the table looked amazing with nearly 30 different prizes.
After a gorgeous and much needed carvery dinner of Beef and Lamb the presentations took place
