Thanks to everyone who attended our Fundraising Week Champions’ event at the MRS on 21st June. Over 30 people braved the soaring temperature and the four flights of stairs to join us for drinks and nibbles hosted by the MRS. Lots of fundraising ideas were shared and exchanged and pictures were taken with some of John Bizzell’s lucky dip winners, including Farez Zamyadi from Respondi pictured here with John Bizzell and Linda Henshall. And a healthy £100 was raised too!
Here’s what previous Fundraising Week Champions Claire Partington from RP Translate and David Sutterby from QRS said about our Fundraising Week in 2015.
Clare Partington, RP Translate:
We supported MRBA Fundraising Week last time because we couldn’t miss out on supporting the only registered UK Market Research charity, and to have great fun while doing it. We realised we could help launch the beginning of what is bound to become a long-running event!
Last time, some brave souls at RP Translate hopped next door, climbed up a 12-foot pole and jumped into mid-air to raise money for the MRBA. It was an aptly named ‘Leap of Faith’, with its rush of fear and anxiety, before the relief of finding your feet safely on solid ground again.
The MRBA is doing fantastic work that directly supports people in Market Research when we need it most. The Fundraising Week is an unmissable chance to come together as an industry, and share in making a real difference to our own working communities. Not to mention the fantastic networking and team-building opportunities!
With so many ideas floating around the office, from dog-a-thons (as many dogs as possible going on a walk together) to poker nights (dogs also invited), we’re finding it difficult to choose! Our decision deadline is September 1st, so watch this space…
David Sutterby, QRS:
QRS has been going since 1975. The MRBA and in particular their fundraising week is a great way to give something back to interviewers, who have been the bedrock of our company for so many years.
For Fundraising Week 2015, we cycled the equivalent distance from Welwyn Garden City to Brighton Pier using an exercise bike in our office Foyer…. Each member of the team and call centre took 30 minute shifts, in various items of fancy dress. We made it!!
The MRBA’s work is a fundamental support to anyone involved in Market Research. The Fundraising Week is a great way to raise support and awareness. We had a lot of fun last time, and we know the money we’ve donated will benefit people in the industry who need help and support.
We’ve got loads of exciting ideas up our sleeves for this year: Sponsored dancing, running challenges and a big inter-agency competition! It’s going to be a lot of fun! Watch this space…
More details about MRBA Fundraising Week will be added to our website www.mrba.org.uk and on social media, so be sure to follow us there Facebook/mrba.org.uk; Twitter.com/mrbaweek
