Gill has worked in market research for over 30 years, starting as a trainee executive at what was then Research Bureau Ltd after graduating with a degree in Psychology.
Her work covered almost every market sector and research technique – both qualitative and quantitative, but latterly she specialised in the Media and Retail sectors.
For many years she was the User member on the IQCS committee, so has some experience of the needs of fieldworkers and others on the admin side as well as on the exec side of the business. Read more.
“Since ‘retiring’ – at least from paid work –Gill explains: “I’ve taken up a new ‘career’ as a volunteer generalist adviser with my local Citizens Advice. It’s really interesting and rewarding. Then I was approached by Linda Henshall, who I’ve known for years. She asked if I could bring this knowledge to the MRBA Committee and provide guidance on where our applicants and our Regional Managers can go to get advice and/or help for the various difficulties our applicants find themselves faced with.”
Gill has already got stuck in and has added more valuable sources of information for both our applicants and Regional Managers to our website. Click here and scroll down to the section ‘Other organisations that can help’.
Beyond her voluntary work, Gill is a bit of a petrol-head, though as an almost-non-driver it seems contradictory. With her husband driving one of their classic Jaguar cars, they take several ‘motoring’ holidays/away-days each year, often combining this with their love of walking, and have visited motor museums in the UK and abroad.
